2002-09-08 - 2:36 p.m. I just bought a pair of nylon work-out pants at Old Navy to go with my new motivated lifestyle, and I have to say, they are the loudest pants I've ever worn. They swish when I walk. I just put Baby Lou down for her nap and I actually walked out of the room with my legs spread out so that I wouldn't wake her up. That's how loud these pants are. They sure are comfy though. Let's see...yesterday, I had big plans to go to yoga at 8am with my buddy, R. The plan was to leave the babes at the house with her husband, J, and run up the street to the class. i can't tell you how excited I was. I don't get the opportunity to get out without baby much, and I was feeling all healthy and good. I got up and got dressed, and Sonny got Lou ready and everything was happy and good and then, I couldn't find my yoga mat. I can't even explain the rage that started to surface. I tore UP that house. I have no clue where it is...still. Sonny looked too. Finally, i called R and canceled. I know, I probably could have managed with a towel, but I didn't want to be slipping all around the floor. That is NOT relaxing. Also, I'm not the most flexible chick in the world and I need all the help I can get. i just didn't want to go if i didn't have my mat. Anyway, I felt a full on temper tantrum starting, and rather than subjecting Sonny to inappropriate bitchiness, I decided to go get a cup of coffee with Lou. I wasn't too enraged to drive safely, mind you, I just knew that I would have become angrier and angrier if I didn't get away for a bit. And, Sonny was getting ready to head into work and didn't need the grief. We went to a coffee shop and I sipped on coffee while Lou practiced walking. Poor girl. It's still an effort and she always heads out doing her little Frankenstein walk to the nearest shiny thing...then, just when she is almost there, I swoop down and take her away. That's got to get frustrating. Although, she seems to see it as a game, and usually laughs hysterically when I thwart her. I realize this is probably a very bad game to play since it makes her run for "off-limit" things the minute we enter a room. Oh well. I've tried distraction, but she's no sucker. My offerings are almost never as cool as the shiny things she's heading for. That's all for now. |
